Are Short Workouts Really Effective?
Today short home workouts are becoming very popular. Just for a fact that the name short home workout sounds more appealing. It takes very little time of your busy day, you can do it at home and most of them does not require much equipment. A term short workout became very popular from a marketing standpoint with trainers, fitness professionals and people selling ebooks online. But can you really get the same benefits from a short 20-30 session like you would from an hour long workout hour at the gym.
Everybody are short in time, and I dare to say that every person will benefit from short home workouts. Depending on your goal and objective it might not be the most effective way to train, but it will definitely do some good for you.
If you are training to become bodybuilder you will need to train harder and longer, than a person who just want to keep up their fit physique. If your goal is to loose weight, burn fat and just get in thinner, more toned, than short and intense all body exercises are just right for you.
From my own experience, I really enjoy short workouts, but as I look in the mirror and see something I want to fix, I spend extra time focusing on certain exercises for a specific muscle group. For example I really like round and chiseled look of male shoulder muscles. To get that, once a week after I do my regular 25 min HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) I do some muscle building exercises for my shoulders, it adds another 15 min to my routine. I am pretty sure you will find some areas on your body that you would like to improve and spending extra 15 min a week to get there is no brainer.
You have to be realistic. If you want something more than a strong, fit and healthy body you might have to train little bit longer and harder.
I find that home workouts fits in my daily schedule and have not had health club membership in 8 years.
