Have you ever heard saying, your image is not how you imagine yourself, but how others see you.
We live in society that first impression makes very strong and lasting influence, and it is so not only on other people, but also on yourself. Good self image is very important for your motivation.

When you dress like you don't care, people around you think that you don't care about yourself.
Believe it or not, how other people see you and what opinion they create for themselves about you is not that important. Most importantly it is about you, you are your own audience. What you wear and how you look helps you identify your self image. We all have this picture of our selves in our mind, how we want to be seen by others, but often we don’t put enough effort to make it TRUE PICTURE.

I used to put on the worst clothing pieces I had for the workout, because I thought, -“I am working out for myself so I don’t care how I look, I just want my body to look great later.” It seemed most logical. The end result is the same - better body and better health, so I would put on whatever clothing that absorbs sweat and go.

It was no issue at all when I did my workouts in the dark evenings, in the back yard.
One weekend my wife suggested go for a run along the beach. And that stretch is always filled with young and old joggers.

Only then I saw that I was the only one running with muddy sneakers, pants with paint stains and some overstretched sweater. I was in great shape physically, but from the outside, I did not look like I knew what I was doing.

If we were robots, that use just pure logic to make decisions, than it would be alright. But we are not machines, no matter what we say we all have that fragile side that could be affected by a simple uncomfortable feeling and kill all motivation. On some people it has bigger effect than on others.

After few other times exercising in public with “non fitness outfits” I decided to spend money on some running shorts and appropriate workout shoes.

Somehow the right exercise outfit and good shoes gives you good vibe about exercising. Add workout gloves, mp3 player loaded with uplifting workout music and you are ready to burn a 1000 calories - EASY.
If it is hard for you to get motivated, than all these little things may help you in some way. Good upbeat workout music, cool out fit, exercise shoes that are not only comfy but look cool, maybe find and workout buddy to exercise with, get workout gloves to prevent your palms from blisters. Subscribe your favorite fitness website or Youtube trainers, it is free and it gives you new exercises to try, new ideas, new challenges.​
