Exercises Makes You Feel Young And Strong
Conquer something.
Being the winner feels so good, even if the achievement looks worthless to others.
Since my family and I moved to a new apartment, I would go to workout to the closest park which is about 2 blocks away (5 min walk). To get my dose of cardio exercise, I would run wherever there is a sidewalk.
Two weeks ago on Sunday afternoon during my home workout routine I decided to run for a bit longer to find my usual route.
I found my quest.
About half a mile away from my home I ran in to a pretty steep, a one block length hill. Wow, I thought, how about I run up this hill in full speed, like I would be chased by a psycho killer with machete. First and foremost I wanted to test myself if I can do it and second – in case I would fail and suffocate half way up, I want to train to be able to conquer this hill and more than one time.
I ran up the hill as fast as I could. As I’ve got closer to the top, my thighs started to burn and I felt I am slowing down not by my own will, but because my explosive boost did not last as long as I wanted.
Now every time I jog I can do three of these sprints up the hill and I am training to get faster, stronger and feel younger.
This little self test reminded me the fitness test I took after graduating high school.
Believe it or not it makes me feel younger, because I know that my fitness level is as good as it was 12 years ago.
Find your own test, that would give you the feeling of accomplishment: bike ride, swimming, running up the hill like crazy with no reason or simply stretching to reach your toes. What ever works for you the important part is to move and be active.
