Human body consists of 78% of water and can't survive more than 72 hours without it.
Every living minute we lose water from our bodies. As we breath and exhale there is moisture in the air. Human bodies also loose water through sweat, urine, saliva and water is crucial element for every regenerative process in the body.
Water is a big player even in anti-aging. Your body is created to work in harmony and share resources among all its organs. When you drink less water, there is less moisture in skin cells, there for skin is less elastic and tends to wrinkle. There are no creams or potions, that could prevent wrinkles from appearing, if your skin is lacking moisture from the inside.
You probably have heard all these suggestions to drink 8 glasses a day or something similar. The simple rule is that you should never feel thirsty. If you feel thirst, means you are not drinking enough. Develop a habit to drink a glass of water in the morning after waking up, even if you don't want it. You were sleeping 6-8 hours without any hydration. Probably at night you went to the bathroom too, so you need to compensate all the water you have lost.
If you exercise and workout, it becomes even more important to keep up proper water intake as it is crucial for fast muscle recovery.
Soda and sugary drinks doesn't count. When you drink sodas and other drinks loaded with sugar they only increase your need for water because to dilute and absorb that sugar, your body needs even more water. That’s why sometimes short time after you feel thirsty again. Same thing happens with salty snacks like potato chips, salty pretzels and other. They are high in salt and fat and that’s why they taste so good.
I suggest to grab a bottle of water with you everywhere you go, and after some time it will become a habit. It's good practice to keep some water in your car just to be prepared.
